Gorgeously fragrant wild rose petal and cottonwood bud hydrosols are lovingly distilled in small batches in Bellingham, WA, by Wildroot Botanicals. The scent of cottonwood buds is an early sign of spring in the Pacific Northwest, sticky, resinous, full of life. And then in early summer, the wild roses, my namesake. The blend is finished by a touch of gulab mukhallat attar, a precious co-distillation of rose and sandalwood still made using centuries-old traditional methods in the city of Kannauj, India. And of course, a little cardamom.

My love of roses comes from my name, of course, and my love of cardamom comes from (of all places) my cherished time in a Swedish pastry kitchen during my formative years in New York. The way these two scents dance together has become a signature of my work, both comforting and uplifting. Timeless. Flowers and spice, forever.

  • Because hydrosols are extraordinarily delicate & powerful plant essences, we do recommend that you store this tonic in the fridge, or at least a cool spot below 75F. It will stay fresh much longer this way, and feels even more refreshing to the skin - especially in the summer months! Please use within 6 months of purchase.

    This formula is gentle enough even for sensitive skin, and is full of soothing botanicals, but as with any product that's new to you, try a small patch test first to ensure its compatibility with your skin. Our very first loose tea blend, created to be simmered in the style of a traditional chai, this tea is inspired by my dreamy little hideaway on Rivington Street with the bathtub in the kitchen. The mysterious and the familiar come together: the rhythm of the street below, history, memory, nostalgia & spice. An inspiring elixir!

A rich, organic Assam black tea forms the base of our house blend, while organic cardamom & rose petals lend a spicy, floral note. Organic ceylon cinnamon, organic pink peppercorns, organic ginger and South Indian vanilla beans round off a melange that is as lovely to look at as to drink. Slowing down enough to brew up a cup of this loose-leaf infusion will soothe the spirit.
