These luxuriously soft sea sponges are sustainably farmed in Pohnpei, Micronesia, in a complimentary ecologically friendly practice alongside the artisanal fishing traditions and way of life of the island's people. Choose from two sizes: 3 inches across (for the bath) or 2 inches across (for the face).

I've sourced these sponges through Farm to Girl, who ensures that their sponge farmers receive a fair price for their product, and also reinvests 20% of their profits in women's health and education. You can find out more about their work here.

No harsh chemicals are used in the processing of these sponges. Care instructions:

• Rinse in clean water after use

• Squeeze to expel water

• Store in a dry spot when not in use

• For extra cleaning, soak in 1 quart of water with 2 tbsp of baking soda for 1 hour

• Your sponge will last for years with good care
