may in the studio + in the garden
May is such a beautiful month here in the city. Flowers everywhere! I couldn’t resist adding more spring-themed vintage treasures to the shop to celebrate, and I’ve been working on some tiny hand-poured beeswax taper candles, too. Look for these in the shop soon. I’ve been working on fresh batches of all my favorite treats, including our rose & chamomile cleansing grains (above, bottom left) and our blossom facial steam. Springtime can get so busy, be sure to take a little time for some grounding, quiet moments of ritual for skin + spirit.
I’ve been doing a bit of spring cleaning in my notes app and revisited a few semi-recent articles on scent that I’d enjoyed, I thought you might appreciate them, as well:
ELEVEN WAYS OF SMELLING A TREE by David G. Haskell
How to Choose Your Perfume: A Conversation with Sianne Ngai and Anna Kornbluh
Fragrance Maker Dares to Sniff ‘What Life Really Smells Like’
Two albums currently on repeat at the moment in the studio:
Dai Raft - Hamid Sahkizada
A Touma - Ballaké Sissoko
Until next time,
below, clockwise from top left:
Aquilegia canadensis
Anemonella thalictroides
Uvularia grandiflora
Trillium luteum
A particular softness is in the air this week. Just enough to leave the windows open overnight. The seedlings at the garden are finally making progress after the rainy days of late April…
